Defiance – Ark Hunter Chronicles: episode 3

Today marks the release of the third episode in Defiance’s Ark Hunter Chronicle series. This chapter, named “Rain of Death“, continues to follow Begbie and Drifter as a mysterious female Ark Hunter watches over them, ensuring their safety amidst mass destruction.

We’ll leave you to enjoy the full episode on your own – but before you do, check out some of our behind-the-scenes storyboards that brought this chapter to life. Not only do you get to learn more about our mysterious narrator, you get to see a badass rocket launcher that can (quite literally) rain fire down on a massive field of enemies.

Storyboards for animated shorts like the Ark Hunter Chronicles are integral, not just to highlight the main focus of the video but also to help artists and animators as they block out characters, detail their emotions, and help viewers understand the nuances of the story in just a few short frames. We also might use these to embed Ark Hunter Codes… but we’ve left out those storyboards in order to give you the thrill of the hunt.
