Если верить изданию Deadline, то актёр Джим Керри (Jim Carrey) сейчас ведёт переговоры с компанией Paramount касательно своего участия в фильме по мотивам серии игр Sonic the Hedgehog. Керри намерен сыграть роль злодея - доктора Эггмана, также известного как доктор Айво Роботник.

За сценарий картины отвечают Пэт Кейси (Pat Casey) и Джош Миллер (Josh Miller). Режиссёром фильма значится Джефф Фаулер (Jeff Fowler). Нил Мориц (Neal Moritz), Мие Ониси (Mie Onishi) и Тим Миллер (Tim Miller) продюсируют картину
 
Выход в прокат фильма по мотивам Sonic the Hedgehog запланирован на ноябрь 2019 года.
