В сентябре студия Telltale Games  объявила о закрытии, так и не закончив свою последнюю игру. Студия Skybound Entertainment, которую возглавляет автор комикса The Walking Dead Роберт Киркман, приступила к производству третьего и четвёртого эпизодов The Walking Dead: Final Season. В работе принимают участие члены команды Telltale. Пока рано говорить о датах выхода двух последних серий, но ранее сообщалось, что создатели постараются успеть до конца года.

В течение нескольких дней предыдущие сезоны серии могут быть недоступны для покупки, но они вернутся в продажу в ближайшее время. Те, кто приобрёл The Walking Dead: Final Season получат завершающие эпизоды без дополнительной оплаты, как и планировалось.
