Лента по Gears of War находится в разработке у Microsoft и Universal с 2016 года, но информации по проекту очень мало. Портал The Wrap сообщает о новом сценаристе – Ф.Скотте Фрезере.

Ф. Скотт Фрейзер - автор сценария фильмов Автобан (Collide) и Три икса: Мировое господство (xXx: Return of Xander Cage), который также в настоящее время работает над экранизацией серии романов «Рождённый туманом» Брендона Сандерсона. Ранее сообщалось, что сценаристом Gears of War был Шейн Салерно, работавший над Avatar 2. Неизвестно продолжил ли Фрейзер работать со сценарием Салерно или начнёт работу заново. 
 
Сейчас  создаётся три проекта для поклонников Gears of War: мобильная игра Gears POP! для iOS и Android, стратегия Gears Tactics и шутер от третьего лица Gears 5.
