Исполнительный вице-президент Microsoft Фил Спенсер на конференции Barclays Global Technology, Media and Telecommunications рассказал о ряде деталей, которые касаются подписочного сервиса Xbox Game Pass.

Спенсер считает контент необходимостью, именно поэтому компания приобрела семь игровых студий (Undead Labs, Playground Games, Ninja Theory, Compulsion Games, inXile Entertainment, Obsidian Entertainment, и The Initiative). Сейчас одной из главных целей является предоставление владельцам Android (в мире больше миллиарда устройств под управлением Android) возможности играть при помощи облачного сервиса стриминга игр xCloud. Оба сервиса, xCloud и Xbox Game Pass, связаны.
 
Вскоре Xbox Game Pass появится на PC и в конечном итоге на каждом устройстве. Публичные испытания для Project xCloud начнутся в 2019 году.
 
Количество подписчиков Xbox Game Pass неизвестно. Спенсер говорит о «миллионах» и об успехе сервиса.
