Gearbox при разработке Borderlands 3 делает упор на кооперативное сотрудничество и прорабатывает мельчайшие детали. К примеру, систему меток, впервые появившуюся в Apex Legends и затем перебравшуюся во все ведущие «королевские битвы».
 
Система меток в Borderlands 3 позволит быстро и эффективно отмечать для напарников позиции врагов, ящиков, трофеев, оружия и других ценных предметов в локациях. Метки можно делать в том числе и на мини-карте, что значительно упростит многопользовательский игровой процесс для пользователей без микрофонов.
