Borderlands 3 обещает стать одной из важнейших премьер текущего года. Take-Two Interactive в финансовом отчёте сообщила, что за последние три месяца было продано еще пять миллионов копий старых игр серии Borderlands.

В настоящее время продано 48 млн. копий игр франшизы, в то время, как в марте сообщалось о 43 млн. Одной из причин успеха является повышенный интерес к бренду, вызванный Borderlands 3. Также помогли выход издания Borderlands: Game of the Year, дополнение Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary и серьёзные скидки.
 
Borderlands 3 выходит 13 сентября на PC в Epic Games Store, PS4 и Xbox One. В апреле 2020 года игра появится в Steam, в планах также запуск в сервисе Google Stadia.
