Одним из элементов косметики в сетевой части Gears 5 являются флаги.

Как заметили пользователи, разработчики добавили в игру и, в общей сложности, 19 так называемых «флагов гордости», которые представляют различные течения ЛГБТ-сообщества, включая гендерквиров и полисексуалов.
 
Причём флаги доступны бесплатно, и не надо прибегать к микротранзакциям для того, чтобы получить к ним доступ.
