Издатель Paradox Interactive, незадолго до открытия мероприятия PDXCON, объявил о раздаче глобальной стратегии Crusader Kings II. Вероятно, базовая версия игры стала бесплатной на постоянной основе.

Также сейчас в Steam проходит распродажа игр издателя, на которой, в том числе, можно со значительной скидкой приобрести множество дополнений к Crusader Kings II.
 
Во время PDXCON, который пройдёт с 19 по 20 октября, издатель анонсирует новую глобальную стратегию. Фанаты полагают, что ей может стать Crusader Kings III. В сентябре на это в твиттере намекала одна из руководителей студии Линда Тайгер.
