Видавництво CI Games та розробники з  Hexworks вирішили по-тихому усунути плутанину між першою Lords of the Fallen та перезапуском The Lords of the Fallen.

Вони просто скоротили назву сиквела, перетворивши його на найменування оригінальної гри. А першу частину перейменували на Lords of the Fallen 2014.

Зважаючи на все, так має стати зрозуміліше. Офіційних заяв щодо зміни назви девелопери не зробили. Друга частина серії має стати м'яким перезапуском, а події гри розгорнуться понад тисячу років після фіналу Lords of the Fallen 2014.

Схожий граматичний маневр зробили у Bloober Team. Свій наступний хорор Layers of Fear 2023-го розробники спочатку назвали Layers of Fears, але потім прибрали зайву букву.

Lords of the Fallen вийде на ПК (Steam), PlayStation 5 і Xbox Series наприкінці 2023 року.
