У жовтні 2022 року на честь 25-річчя Age of Empires було анонсовано додаток Return of Rome для другої частини. Подробиць досі не надходило, але сьогодні стала відома дата релізу DLC – 16 травня.

Розширення додасть  Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition контент з Age of Empires: Definitive Edition. Чи весь — незрозуміло.

Нагадаємо, у січні Age of Empires II дісталася Xbox. Також на консолях Microsoft до кінця 2023-го вийде Age of Empires IV.

Крім того, у розробці знаходиться мобільна Age of Empires та ремайстер Age of Mythology - фентезійного спін-оф серії.
