41-а щорічна церемонія вручення нагород Golden Joystick Awards добігла кінця — її тріумфатором стала  Baldur's Gate III . Отримавши першу статуетку, глава Lanian Studios Свен Вінке (Swen Vincke) зізнався, що не приготував промову, оскільки «зазвичай студія нічого не виграє». Однак за підсумками заходу третя Baldur's Gate не залишила конкурентам жодного шансу, забравши нагороди в шести категоріях, включаючи «Гру року».

Непогано себе показали  Final Fantasy XVI  і доповнення  Phantom Liberty  для  Cyberpunk 2077 — ігри здобули перемогу в двох номінаціях.  The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom , яка претендувала на шість призів, заробила лише один, отримавши звання «Ігри року для Nintendo Switch».

Цього року журі визначало переможців у трьох категоріях:

• Краща гра за версією стрімерів — Valorant,
• Краща гра за версією критиків — Alan Wake II,
• Прорив року — Cocoon.
