Life by You - альтернатива The Sims від Paradox, яка зникла перед самим запуском у ранньому доступі. Сьогодні ми дізналися ціну помилки - $19 мільйонів.

Paradox Interactive повідомила про це у фінансовому звіті.

  • Компанія списала всі капіталізовані витрати на Life by You - приблизно 208 мільйонів шведських крон (ті самі $19 мільйонів).
  • Глава Paradox знову наголосив, що скасування Life by You виявилося складним рішенням, але гра не відповідала очікуванням компанії.
  • Списання витрат компенсували кількома успішними запусками аддонів до вже наявних ігор - The Machine Age для Stellaris, Eldritch Realms для Age of Wonders IV, Sphere of Influence для Victoria 3, Winds of Change для для Europa Universalis IV, The Obsidian Uprising для Nenukil і The Engineer для Across the Obelisk.

Нагадаємо, Life by You спочатку перенесли тричі, а потім скасували - за ідеєю, на момент скасування гра вже могла перебувати в ранньому доступі. Внутрішню студію-розробника, яка робила Life by You, теж закрили.
