New Little King’s Story Marches Onto PS Vita Today

New Little King is back and better than ever – now on the PlayStation Vita. Featuring a brand new storyline and online functionality, New Little King’s Story offers players a royal role playing game with enhanced PS Vita system graphics and features.

New Little King’s Story follows players as they assume the role of King Corobo, tasked with reclaiming his kingdom from the Devil King, “The Nightmare.” Players will experience an incredible journey as they visit seven different kingdoms and battle against evil dark lords that have captured the royal princesses. As king, gamers will need to lead their Royal Guard in every grand battle, and plan attacks wisely as they grow their populations and broaden their territories.

The new PS Vita version will allow players to get more deeply engaged with their fellow characters. Players can temper and customise their characters, meaning all characters have experience points and by fighting as a group, makes them grow up. In addition, by changing accessories freely, a player can dress up their troops as he or she likes. It is also possible to banish characters whom the players dislike from their country, then welcome a new character into the group.

Players can also go off on adventures with the princesses. The princesses can support the main character by using special skills and magic. Of course the princesses will grow up as well. By using a specific skill of a particular princess, a player can catch the monsters and make them their companion. These monsters can be brought along on their adventure too and by fighting in battles, they grow up as well.

We decided to have the game on the Vita for many reasons. Using the touch-panel can improve the game controllability dramatically. The original version used only buttons for controls, which sometimes proved difficult to play. By using the touch-panel the player can scout more than a dozen citizens all at once.

Secondly, the high resolution graphics enables the player to depict many characters at once inside the screen. It just wouldn’t be the same game if there weren’t so many characters moving inside it’s world.

Last but not least, network affinity is high, therefore it is easy to buy avatars and other items on the PS Store. We wanted the players to have fun with the customising of characters. Therefore, the PS Store, enabling the users to purchase additional items, was very appealing to us!
