После первых же оценок Super Mario 3D World стало понятно, что владельцам Wii U скоро достанется очередной хит. После того, как запрет на публикацию обзоров был снят, предположения полностью подтвердились.

В данный момент, когда для игры опубликовано уже 40 обзоров, средний балл Super Mario 3D World составляет 93/100, причем лишь два издания поставили по 80/100, а одно - 85/100, остальные оценили проект не ниже 90/100.

Многие обозреватели сходятся в одном - даже если Super Mario 3D World не превзошла дилогию Super Mario Galaxy, она все равно стала одной из лучших игр для Wii U и лучшей частью серии после Galaxy 2.
