Оригинальный фэнтезийный платформер Trine был выпущен на РС в 2009 году, продолжение дебютировало на PC, PlayStation 3 и Xbox 360 в конце 2011. На текущий момент суммарные продажи серии на всех платформах превысили 7 млн. копий.
