Как стало известно, в ходе мартовской конференции разработчиков игр на 15-й ежегодной церемонии Game Developers Choice Awards награду Lifetime Achievement Award получит известный японский дизайнер Хиронобу Сакагути (Hironobu Sakaguchi).

Отец серии Final Fantasy и президент Mistwalker приложил руку к созданию многих популярных игр, включая Vagrant Story, Parasite Eve, Kingdom Hearts, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, The Last Story и Terra Battle.

Что касается серии Final Fantasy, которая берет свое начало в 1987 году, то ее продажи превышают 110 млн копий, кроме того, игры серии установили 7 рекордов Гиннеса.
