Компания EA приняла решение закрыть Maxis Emeryville, основной офис Maxis, который работал на The Sims, SimCity и Spore. ЕА не отказалась от использования бренда Maxis, однако коллектив, который все знали, как просто Maxis, более не существует.

Информацию подтвердил бывший дизайнер студии Гийом Пьер (Guillaume Pierre).

ЕА заявила, что это закрытие не коснется поклонников The Sims и The SimCity, компания намеревается поддерживать The Sims 4 и выпускать новые игры. Все бывшие сотрудники Maxis Emeryville получили предложения продолжить работу в других офисах Maxis и студиях EA.
