Из сервиса Steam была удалена страница с описанием зомби-киллера Dead Island 2. Хотя упоминание об игре всё ещё есть в базе данных Steam. Подобное решение может указывать на то, что релиз обновлённой версии проекта состоится нескоро. По словам представителя издательства Deep Silver игра всё ещё находится в разработке.

Изначально над Dead Island 2 трудилась студия Yager (Spec Ops: The Line, Dreadnought). Однако в мае 2016 года стало известно, что издательство Deep Silver отстранило Yager от разработки игры. Впоследствии проект поручили студии Sumo Digital (LittleBigPlanet 3, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed).

 

Точной даты выхода у Dead Island 2 пока нет. Игра разрабатывается для РС, PS4 и Xbox One.
